Step into the Past

Walking into an old-growth forest is like stepping back in time. It’s not hard to imagine people like yourself treading the hills and hollows generations and centuries before you. A little farther in, and you begin to lose awareness of the outside world, as the sounds and smells of traffic give way to the solemn silence of the forest.

Remarkably, we have an old-growth treasure right here in the heart of Metropolitan Nashville—nearly 200 acres of woods never cut for timber.

Property manager William Fields, seen in some of the images here, grew up on the property. He recently took noted photographer Byron Jorjorian on a tour, and here's what they saw.
